Loss and what to learn

On the 8th January we lost an amazing woman, my Mum aged 41. Words cannot begin to quantify and describe the loss that my family and I now face.

It really does drum home quite how precious life really is and that you simply cannot afford to take ANYthing for granted, in particular your health.

Wake up every day and ask yourself, what can I do to make the most out of today? What can I do to enrich the world? I know it is possibly sounding like I have gone utterly nutty however just think about it, what right have any of us that are firstly alive and secondly of good health got to waste an opportunity to not enjoy what is around us or lastly but most importantly who is around us. To not would simply be an insult to those who have sadly lost those opportunities.

Remember:

He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much

Charisma cards challenge cards! Buttons

Hi everyone,

I know I have been so quiet and I apologise if I have not left many comments on blogs this week however we have had some really bad news in the family. My Mum has now been ill with secondary breast cancer for a while now, however last week we discovered that has spread to her bones also (as well as her breast, lungs and liver). We are of course devastated but fingers crossed the radiotherapy and chemo will keep things at bay.

Can't life just be so cruel.

On a brighter note...buttons are the theme for this weeks challenge over at Charisma Cards
and the prize this week is sponsored by Simon Says!

Have fun with it!

So much to say!

Hello everyone!

I am a really mixed bag of feelings today! We have just arrived back from our honeymoon from Sorrento so I am so sad to be back as obviously it really does not compare to Italy here! We had such a romantic and beautiful time but all good things must come to an end (so my HUSBAND told me!) Oh my gosh it stil sounds odd to call him that! I am also however very excited to now be a Mrs and although the honeymoon is over there will hopefully be many more happy moments. I also can't wait to see the photos from the wedding and obviously share with you some of our wonderful day.

BUT

First I must show you my two latest cards I had made for the DT Charisma cards! I forgot to put them on a scheduled post so here they are...

Firstly this is my design for Lyndsey's lovely Going dotty challenge which has now finished so congratulations to Polly!

Secondly this is my design for Vee's pink and brown colour challenge which I actually really struggled with! Head on over to Charisma Cardz to make something better than I did!

The prize is a gift certificate for Simon Says! So gooo on join in.

Now for a liitle taster of what has kept me so absent from the world of blogging... the wedding stuff!

Shown below are the candles that I made (with a little help from friends!) for each and every guest at the wedding. As you can see becaude they have names on I used them as place cards for the tables and as they are pretty too they made fab table decs and then favours for the guests to keep! Ingenious.

Although we are awaiting the photos from the photographer I have had a little look on facebook and seen that already there are photos of our big day! I have put some below so you could see!

Hope you like! Phew that has to be one of the longest posts in hostory! I do however have one last thing to say...

...I am back to the world of blogging! Yay! But this time as the new Roxy Ingamells!

Love to all that I have abandoned recently,

Roxy

Sugar bowl Challenge 8

Hope everyone enjoying the weekend!
I've been having a lazy morning and just made this card for the fantastic challenge they have over at The Sugar Bowl! Have you seen what they have as a prize! I am positively drooling over the sugary sweet stamps!

Have gone a bit mad for the lace, ribbons and pearls on here but love this modern/vintage mix at the moment. Click on the photos to get a better look as not so clear otherwise!

Had a moment of ickle inspiration as to what I could do with a tiny bit of lace left over! (Must find out where to get more!) Apologies if everybody has already thought of this anyway! I just thought it looked nice and wanted to share!

I twisted it round to make a pasta bow shape:

...and then finished it off with a prima flower, centred with an eyelet and adhesive pearl. Hey presto pretty flower with vintage twist!

For my card I used:
Sugar nellie stamp: Elisabeth Bell - my favourite!
K and Co - McKenna
Pink petticoat sentiment
lace and ribbon from stash
prima flower
eyelet
pearls (self adhesive)
Hope you all like!
